Eating is Cheating
You cannot beat a grandiose London station for a fast and efficient way to fill up.
If you are living on the line and want an almost 24hr option for a free lunch then you can’t go past Kings Cross/St. Pancras station(s).
The Eurostar departs early from St. Pancras – at sparrow’s fart. Excellent, so Frenchy, so chic, food options are available from about 4/5am with Pret a Manger open 24 hours a day.
Your best bet is Paul grab and go for a tasty filled baguette and oversized macaron.
For the post meridian mealtimes a Japanese haunt in St. Pancras called Kineya Mugimaru with easily accessible grab and go Tokyo tucker that will drive you wild. That is, if there isn’t someone standing at the adjacent-to-display dicky point of sale (POS).
There is a Gregg’s inside St. Pancras as a last resort. Easy peasy – Japanesey!
Speaking of which. If you are in and around south and surrounds. Waterloo station is a decent option for a cold sushi serve – gratis of course…
Head to Wasabi inside Waterloo station for an easy grab and go.
You’re probably thirsty by now, so just head to Starbucks inside the station for a couple of Pepsi-Colas you Sethh African.
I should not need to remind you – when racking TRY and get two or more of an item. You will not regret it!
You’ll see Pret in the heavens above at Waterloo which is also a respectable option. Reminds me of a girl I once knew… but that’s the first scene of Secret Lives of Us!
Speaking of Pret a Manger – they are ubiquitous around London and always up for the racking. Rather than not. You’ll find yourself central – so the Pret in Bond St Station is a top idea if you’re on Oxford St one and one time only!
Same with the lesser option Gregg’s. They’re EVERYWHERE. Especially near the High Commission of Australia. No joke.
You’ve probably been accustomed to these by now – GAIL’s. They’re pretty tight. However, one you might like racking from to show whose boss is the location in Notting Hill. Go forth and conquer!
Westfield near the Grenfell site (RIP) can be good for grub. So can the Westfield at the 2012 Australia Olympic Site – Stratford City. Try the lykkle Yo! Sushi grab and go display and perhaps Pret for a soda or two.
Why not play Dem Boy Paigon – J Hus after your haul and really get into the London vibe? It makes shopping better for you…
I hope you are feeling emboldened by now so why not try a gratis hotel breakfast? You know what to do – just walk straight to the breakfast buffet and act like a local.
Here’s two options where you can get away with it. Holiday Inn Express – City in Shoreditch. Holiday Inn Express – Southwark (go through the side/back door to the small car park during breakfast times) toot suite!
